VenSoc is not currently recruiting. Rather than publish placeholder vacancies, here is what working here actually involves, so that when a role does open you already know whether you want it.
In short
The job has changed, and we are not pretending otherwise
Most of the implementation here is produced by AI engineering agents under direction. The valuable skill is no longer typing code quickly. It is knowing what correct looks like, spotting the plausible-but-wrong answer, designing the test that would catch it, and holding a system in your head well enough to know which questions to ask. If that sounds like a downgrade, this is not the right place. If it sounds like the interesting part of the job finally got more of the day, it is.
You will be asked to prove things, constantly
Nothing is accepted here on the basis that it looks right. Identifiers are verified against their source, tests are proven to fail before they are trusted, and no work is reported complete without the command output behind it. Engineers who find this pedantic are unhappy here. Engineers who have been burned by a confident report that turned out to be wrong tend to find it a relief.
Small team, real ownership, no theatre
There is no layer of account managers, no status meeting that exists to generate a status, and no ticket that has been in progress for a quarter. You will talk to clients directly, own systems in production, and be named as accountable for them. That is a genuine responsibility and it suits some people and not others.
Experience we are interested in
- Python and Django or FastAPI, in production
- Laravel and PHP, in production
- Odoo implementation and custom module development
- SAP or other ERP integration — OData, IDoc, middleware
- Applied AI: retrieval systems, evaluation, agent orchestration
- Test engineering, particularly people who think about mutation
How to apply
There is no application form and no tracking system to disappear into. Send an email with something you have built and a short note on the hardest bug you have fixed and how you found it. That second part is the one we read closely.
